Nath, Quiros post singles wins in road setback

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Host Army (1-4) swept the doubles matches and won four of the six singles matches to defeat Binghamton men's tennis (0-3), 5-2, Sunday afternoon at Lichtenberg Tennis Center.

Sophomore Kushaan Nath prevailed in a third-set tiebreak to post a win at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Sebastian Quiros rolled to a straight-set win at No. 5 - his second win in as many days.

"Credit to Army for playing tough all the way through," head coach Nick Ziuziula said. "We've gotten more disciplined with our focus since the fall but we had too many dips today to beat a feisty Black Knights team. We'll focus on getting healthy this week and continue to improve our patience and discipline and be ready for a doubleheader on Saturday."

The Bearcats were without two injured starters in the lineup.

Binghamton next head to Olean to face host St. Bonaventure and Niagara on Saturday.
