Bearcats and Big Red kick-off at 1 p.m. at Sports Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (2-3-2) welcomes Upstate New York rival Cornell (1-3) to the Bearcats Sports Complex for a 1 p.m. kick-off Sunday.

Binghamton returns home, where they are 2-0 this season. The Bearcats play their final three non-conference games at the Sports Complex. The team is looking to snap a three-game winless streak.

On Thursday in the Bronx, BU got a first-half goal from Kayla Saager but had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Manhattan, despite owning the better of play for much of the game. Junior back Barbara Badeer fed Saager in the 25th minute and the reigning America East Striker of the Year did the rest to earn her fourth tally of the season. Freshman keeper Haylee Poltorak (0.96 GAA) made four saves.

Binghamton welcomed back senior co-captain Patty Loonie and injured center midfielder Chloe Tracy to the lineup but were still missing two other starters.

The Big Red (1-3) have dropped three straight since beginning the season with a 2-1 overtime win at St. Bonaventure. The team has just three goals in four games and is coming off a 1-0 home loss to Division II Le Moyne on Wednesday. The Big Red were picked to finish last in the eight-team Ivy League after going 2-9-3 in 2017.

Cornell holds a 6-3-2 advantage in the all-time series, which began in 2001. Last year, however, BU posted a 2-0 win in Ithaca, thanks to first-half goals by Kayla Saager and Ryan Reilly. Binghamton welcomes back Cornell assistant coach Eva Francavilla, a 2017 BU graduate who worked extensively in the athletics department in marketing and broadcasting.
