Bearcats win doubles point, grab three of five completed singles matches

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Binghamton men's tennis (5-4) posted a commanding road win over Youngstown State (3-4), 4-2, Sunday afternoon at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. The Bearcats clinched the doubles win in the second spot before ending with three singles wins to secure the victory.

Senior Ludovico Cestarollo and sophomore Alejandro Pena sealed the doubles point with a 7-6 (5) victory. Pena also went on to win his No.6 singles to raise his dual record to 6-1 overall. Juniors Kushaan Nath and Tiago Lourenco steamrolled to earn the last two singles wins to seal the victory for the Bearcats.

"The doubles point was critical," head coach Nick Zieziula said. "We did well to come away with a win against a tough Youngstown State team. Pena did well to come out and get the clinch win in singles. We're finding ways to get some wins without playing our best, and that will serve us well as the season goes."

The Bearcats will return to the court in Annapolis, MD to face the University of Richmond Friday afternoon at the USNA Tennis Courts.
