BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Visiting Temple (3-2) won a hard-fought doubles point and then took five of the six singles matches to pin a 6-1 setback on Binghamton men's tennis (3-2) Sunday afternoon at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
Junior No. 2
Kushaan Nath provided BU with its lone point, thanks to a strong straight-set win. Nath improved to 3-1 in duals this spring. Earlier the No. 2 doubles team of senior
Ludovico Cestarollo and freshman
Dylan Friedman won their match. Â
"I thought we played a solid doubles point," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "We had a great performance at No. 2 and we rallied from 5-2 down at No. 3 to get back on serve. And 5-5 at No. 1 against a top 25 team ... that shows we're moving in the right direction in doubles. We put ourselves in good positions in singles but credit to Temple ... they were relentless. It was a solid win by Kuthaan (Nath) after losing to the same opponent last year in straight sets. He is really stepping up his game."
The Bearcats next take on Army (Sat.) and Clemson (Sun.) next weekend at West Point.Â
