KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Sixth-seeded Binghamton men's tennis (8-15) was defeated by No. 3 Northern Illinois (12-11) 4-0 in a MAC quarterfinal match Friday morning at the West Hills Athletic Club.Â
The Bearcats lost the doubles point and then dropped the first three completed singles matches to see their season come to an end.
"Similar to the end of the regular season, we had moments today," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "We opened up great in doubles with the first breaks on all three courts. Then we sent four sets in singles to a tiebreaker but we just didn't have the confidence to push through when NIU answered and pick up their game. It hurt not having Ludo (No. 1
Ludovico Cestarollo) with us ... one of the best players in the conference. But we fought the best we could."
