The Binghamton University men's tennis team opened up dual match play with a 7-0 loss at Brown Saturday afternoon in Providence. The Bearcats pushed two singles matches to three sets, but were unable to close the door.
"This was not the result we were hoping for, but I am really pleased with the effort, attitude and battle from the team today," said head coach
Nick Zieziula. "We had a good preseason week and need to keep building on the positives. I am looking forward to a battle with Quinnipiac tomorrow."
Tiago Lourenco dropped the opening set in his opening No. 1 singles match, but dominated the second frame 6-1 before dropping the third set in a close battle.
In doubles
Kushaan Nath and
Alejandro Pena did not finish their matchup, and were tied at 5 games apiece prior to calling the match.
