WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Binghamton University men's tennis team fell to Georgetown 5-2 Saturday afternoon in West Point. Junior Alejandro Pena and sophomore Dylan Friedman were strong in singles play, each winning their matchups in three sets.Â
The Bearcats were unable to claim a doubles match, but Pena and freshman Michael Pawlowicz nearly pulled out a win, falling via a 6-4 decision.Â
"Doubles today was a disappointing start, that's something we can learn from and improve tomorrow immediately" said head coach Nick Ziezuela. "In singles, really proud of the way Pena and Friedman battled to the end. Looking forward to seeing our grit tomorrow in a tough match after 2 days of competing."Â
The Bearcats head to Newark, N.J. for a 1 p.m. match against NJIT tomorrow.Â
