Sophomores Pawlowicz and Pergel win for Binghamton at No. 1 and 2 singles

DEKALB, IL - Binghamton men's tennis (0-3 MAC) lost 5-2 at Northern Illinois (15-1, 4-0 MAC) Sunday afternoon. The Bearcats' points came from sophomores Michael Pawlowicz and Dan Pergel at the top two singles spots.

"Although we had a disappointing weekend in doubles, we ended on a solid note today with Dan and Michael coming up with tough wins at the top of the lineup," head coach Nick Ziezula said. "We get some time to regroup and work on some things ahead of our next match and we need to take advantage of that."

At No. 1, Pawlowicz opened up the Bearcats singles play with a 2-6, 7-5, 10-7 win over Bor Schweiger Muzar. Pergel followed suit, taking a dominant 6-4, 6-4 victory over Mikko Malinen.

Binghamton is back in action on April 2 when they host Ball State at noon at the Binghamton Tennis Center.
