Bearcats back in action after two-week layoff; kickoff set for 1 p.m. at Sports Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer (1-1, 1-1 America East) returns to action for the first time in two weeks when the BU host New Hampshire (5-1, 2-1 AE) at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The conference game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Bearcats had to endure an unexpected week off from competition when Hartford stopped its season prior to the scheduled matchup with BU last Sunday. So Binghamton hasn't played since a 1-0 home loss to Stony Brook on March 14. With the team's 2-1 overtime win over Albany in its season opener, BU sits in third place in the America East Division "B" standings one-third of the way through the shortened schedule. The Bearcats have four games remaining to try to position themselves for a top-2 finish and playoff berth.

New Hampshire is tied for first place in Division "A" and has won five of six games since getting an early start to the season in mid-February. In conference play, the Wildcats have a pair of overtime wins over Maine (1-0) and Vermont (2-1) with a loss at UMass Lowell (2-0) sandwiched in-between. UNH has 12 freshmen on the roster and was picked fifth in the Coaches' Preseason Poll.

The Wildcats lead the head-to-head series, 11-6-6 and in the last meeting, UNH eliminated BU in the 2019 America East quarterfinals, 3-2. New Hampshire has gone 6-1-2 in the last nine head-head games. At home in the series, the Bearcats are 1-4-4. Twenty of the 23 games between the two programs have been decided by one goal or less.
