Dan Pergel prevailed in the final match of the day but host Florida Gulf Coast University (1-0) posted a 6-1 win over Binghamton men's tennis in the season opener for both teams Friday night at the FGCU Tennis Complex.Â
Pergel shook off an opening-set hole, evened the match in a second-set tiebreak and won it 10-7 in the super tiebreak.Â

Adi Ben-Ari and sophomore
Courage Crawford were engaged in a tight battle when the match was halted after the Eagles clinched the doubles point. Â
Binghamton continues its Florida trip with a neutral site match against Troy Saturday morning at Florida Gulf Coast.Â
