Track & Field Opens 2022 at Lehigh Angry Bird Meet

Chan and Korsah each record a pair of first-place finishes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Jenna Chan and senior Brittany Korsah each won two events, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the Lehigh Angry Bird Indoor Track & Field Meet on Saturday at Lehigh. The Bearcat men placed second out of four teams in the final standings while the women were third.

Chan took top honors in both the 60 hurdles (8.83) and the long jump (18-7 ¼). Korsah, meanwhile, captured the 200 (25.76) and was part of the first-place 4x400 relay team that also included fellow senior Stephanie Cassens, graduate student Nia Joyner and freshman Jessica Prentice. The Bearcat quartet clocked a time of 3:51.01.

Binghamton's other first-place finisher on the women's side was graduate student Emily Mackay, who was victorious in the 800 (2:06).

On the men's side, meanwhile, the Bearcats swept all three jump titles as senior Jake Restivo won the long jump (23-7 ½), junior Marcrene Jeannot was first in the triple jump (47-9) and senior Casey Gribben captured the pole vault crown (14-11).

The rest of the Binghamton men's winners included redshirt freshman Sean Ryan in the mile (4:11), graduate student Dan Schaffer in the 800 (1:53), graduate student Evan Tuthill in the shot put (52-10) and freshman Joey Cardascia in the 200 (22.57).

Monmouth won the men's team title with 185.5 points, followed by Binghamton 134), Lehigh (119.5) and Sacred Heart (77).

The host Mountain Hawks won the women's team championship with 176 points, followed by Monmouth (142), Binghamton (129) and Sacred Heart (93).

Binghamton returns to action at the Penn State National Open next Friday and Saturday.
