PROVIDENCE, R.I. - SophomoreÂ
Kyle Weekes posted a straight-set win at No. 3 singles but Binghamton men's tennis (0-6) suffered a 6-1 loss at Brown (3-1) Friday night at the Pizzitola Sports Center Indoor Tennis Courts. The match was moved up a day to beat the incoming winter storm on the East Coast.Â
Brown took the opening doubles point and won five of the six singles matches.  Â
Weekes put the Bearcats on the board with a 7-6 (1), 6-3 win over Roger Chau.Â
"This was a tough one to swallow," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "We were up breaks in doubles but didn't convert and then we started strong in singles with a break up on 1-4. But credit to Brown for coming back and ultimately dominating the final score. We have lots to learn from this match."
Binghamton returns to action next Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats host FDU at 4 p.m. at the Binghamton Tennis Center.Â
