BURLINGTON, Vt. – Senior Aziza Chigatayeva and sophomore Brandon Love won individual championships, highlighting Binghamton's performance during Day One of the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which are being hosted by Vermont. With one day left in the competition, the Bearcat men are third out of 10 teams while the women are in fourth place.

Chigatayeva won her third straight 3,000 Steeplechase (SC) title, clocking a time of 10:32.83. She is the first Binghamton male or female track & field athlete to three-peat in an event since Jessica Hennig won the women's indoor 400 crown from 2010-12.

Love, meanwhile, bagged his first career conference title in the men's pole vault on Saturday. His winning jump was 14-9.

The Bearcats had two other all-conference performances in the 3,000 SC. Junior Marty Dolan was second overall in the men's race (9:05.60) while fellow junior Carolyn Burnell was third in the women's event (11:02.61). It marked the first career all-conference (top three) finish for each of them.

Also earning a top-three finish was senior Jake Restivo in the men's long jump. He was third overall with a distance of 23-10 ¼.

The second and final day of competition at the conference outdoor meet starts at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
