CORAL GABLES, Fla. - University of Miami (2-0) posted a 4-0 win over visiting Binghamton men's tennis (0-1) Saturday night at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.Â
The host Hurricanes took the doubles point and then captured the first three singles matches to clinch the win.Â
Sophomore newcomer
Zubin Omar split sets at No. 6 singles before the team match was halted. Omar won the second set 6-4. Freshman No. 3
William Morais Binnie pushed his opponent to a first-set tiebreak and was on serve in the second set when it was stopped.Â
"We battled hard tonight and showed a lot of potential," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "William did well to put himself in position to serve for the first set and Zubin converted his chances in the second set to get the split. We are looking forward to battling with a solid Troy squad tomorrow."
The Bearcats face Troy at noon Sunday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
