Lotlikar, Ajed capture singles flights with 3-0 marks

Box Score ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Binghamton men's tennis had a solid showing at the Navy Invitational, held this weekend at Navy's Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium and Tose Family Tennis Center. The four-day event featured players from Navy, Binghamton, Georgetown, Long Island, Niagara, Richmond and Temple.

Sophomore Ronin Lotlikar and freshman Andre Ajed won their respective singles flights and Lotlikar paired with junior Zubin Omar to win their doubles flight. Each went 3-0 in the round-robin format. Lotlikar improved his fall singles record to 10-1.

"We showed a lot of grit this weekend," head coach Nick Zieziula said. "We had three matches down match-point and rallied back to win and also had several matches rally from a set down to come back and win. That's a credit to the guys mentality ... they put in a lot of focused practices over the fall and that gives a lot of confidence to them when things get tough. Our overall doubles record was disappointing but we made a lot of progress during the fall with finding pairings we can build off. We played a lot of matches this fall, significantly more than last year and finished the weekend in great health ... so credit to Coach Bacon and Kara Gorgos' staff in the training room for having everyone fresh and ready to go and injury-free as we turn our eyes to the spring dual match season and our inaugural NEC season."
