WEST HARRISON, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's tennis lineup of four freshmen yielded three singles wins and with the pivotal doubles win, the Bearcats prevailed over host Fordham 4-3 Saturday night at Life Time. 

Freshmen Ronin Lotlikar and James McPherson won matches at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively, after each had a hand in BU clinching the doubles point. Freshman No. 2 William Morais Binnie gave BU its other singles win with a dominating 6-1, 6-2 win. 

Lotlikar won his team-high 10th singles match of the year with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph. He saved a set point in the second set with a second-serve ace before winning three straight games to take the match. McPherson earned his ninth singles win with a three-set comeback win. 

Earlier, McPherson teamed with senior Michael Pawlowicz for a 6-2 win at the top doubles spot and Lotikar paired with sophomore Kyle Weekes for a 6-4 win at No. 3.

"It's been a tough stretch for us but the group has really stayed positive and done a great job supporting each other," head coach Nick Zieziula said. "I'm really proud of how Ronin (Lotlikar) pulled that out tonight. He was cruising on the scoreboard but lost a little focus in the second set; he showed great courage to come up with an ace on a second serve down set point. He practiced his courage and grew as a tennis player tonight. It's a short turnaround and back at it tomorrow against a tough NJIT squad but we're learning and growing as a team."

The Bearcats stick in the Metropolitan area for a Sunday match at NJIT. The 11 a.m. match has live video and scoring.
