Men's tennis loses at Northern Illinois 6-1

Weekes posts win at No. 2 singles; BU hosts Buffalo next Saturday afternoon

DeKALB, Ill. - Host Northern Illinois (10-4, 2-0 MAC) won the doubles point and five of the six singles matches to topple Binghamton men's tennis (4-12, 0-2 MAC) 6-1 Sunday afternoon at Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field House. 

Junior Kyle Weekes posted BU's lone win with a straight-set 6-4, 7-5 triumph at No. 2 singles. 

"It was great to have Kyle back in the lineup for doubles and singles today," head coach Nick Zieziula said. "Hopefully we can build on that spark heading home for a critical five-match homestand."

Binghamton next hosts Buffalo Saturday afternoon at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center.
