BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Visiting Buffalo (5-5, 1-2 MAC) took a tight doubles point and won four of the six singles matches to topple Binghamton men's tennis (4-13, 0-3 MAC) 5-2 Saturday afternoon at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center.
Freshmen
William Morais Binnie and
Ronin Lotlikar posted singles wins at second and fourth singles, respectively, with each rallying for a three-set victory. Lotlikar's win was his team-high 15th of the season. Earlier Lotlikar teamed with sophomore
Kyle Weekes for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles.Â
"We battled hard and didn't go away," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "Will and Ronin did well to battle back from sets down. We had some missed opportunities in the doubles and Buffalo did well to capitalize on those and then roll that into the start of singles. This group is resilient and we will continue to improve through conference play."
The Bearcats continue conference play next weekend with home matches against Ball State (Friday) and Toledo (Sunday).Â
