Bearcats and Terps will kick-off at 1 p.m. at Bearcats Sports Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer welcomes the most prominent opponent to grace the Bearcats Sports Complex when Big Ten member Maryland comes to town Sunday. The Bearcats (1-3-2) and Terps (2-1-4) meet at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The Bearcats have been off a week after tying Wagner 2-2 with a late goal. Senior defender Emma Colling provided the heroics with just 39 seconds left in the game. Earlier, senior back Lexi Vegoda converted her second penalty in as many games to stake the Bearcats to a 1-0 lead. After a scoreless first half, BU and Wagner combined for four goals in the last 40 minutes of the game.

Vegoda leads BU with two goals and five points. Graduate midfielder Olivia McKnight has a goal and an assist. Junior keeper Kaitlyn Williams owns a 1.52 goals against average.

After today, the Bearcats play back-to-back road games, including their conference opener at defending champion UNH next Sunday.

The Terps are coming off a 2-0 win over George Mason on Thursday. In that game, Maryland had an overwhelming advantage in shots (28-0) and corners (15-0) and scored once in each half. Before that, they defeated Towson 1-0 after beginning the season with a flurry of ties (four in first five games). The Terps went 4-8-5 last season but three of those wins came against Big Ten opponents — the program's best conference mark since 2019. Second-year coach Nemzer bolstered the group with eight transfers and 14 freshmen. The recruiting class was ranked No. 11 in the country.

This is the first meeting between BU and Maryland and the Terps are the first Big Ten member school to play at the BSC.
