Men’s Tennis Competes at ITA Regionals

Bearcats pick up four wins at Harvard’s Beren Tennis Center

Box Score CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's Tennis concluded action at the ITA New England Regional this weekend at Harvard's Beren Tennis Center.

The Bearcats picked up four wins across the main and qualifying rounds in both singles and doubles. 

William Morais Binnie highlighted action for Binghamton with a comeback first-round victory over Boston College's Mai Gao 2-6, 6-1, 6-0. Morais Binnie then fell to Cornell's Aman Sharma 5-7, 5-7 in the second round. 

Ronin Lotlikar earned two wins in the qualifying draw against Marist's Nicholas Suhanitski 6-4, 6-3, and Brown's Toby Luo 2-6, 6-0, 10-6 before he dropped his first main draw contest to Dartmouth's Alex Knox-Jones 6-4, 4-6, 2-6. 

Lotlikar and teammate Zubin Omar also notched a first round doubles victory over a Harvard pairing 8-3 but lost their second match 8-2 to a duo from University at Buffalo. 

Filipe Costa competed for the Bearcats in the singles main draw but ceded a tough three-set loss, 6-7 (7), 6-3, 1-6 to Quinnipiac's Daniel Velek. 

Next up, Binghamton hosts the Naterentals.com Mock Duals, Oct. 25-27, at the Lane-Starke Tennis Center. Match time is slated for 9 a.m.
