Binghamton to play six home games at the Bearcats Sports Complex

VESTAL, N.Y. – Having won at least six games in each of its last two seasons, the Binghamton men's lacrosse team looks to take its next step forward as the program announced its schedule for 2025 Thursday.

"We cannot wait to get started on the 2025 season," said Binghamton Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Kevin McKeown. "Our schedule has a mix of new and familiar opponents. Facing a quality team each week will help us continue to get better and work towards playing our best lacrosse into the month of May."

The 2025 slate features six home games at the Bearcats Sports Complex and five opponents who were not on Binghamton's schedule in 2024. Among them is Harvard, who the Bearcats will face for the first time in program history on March 29.

The Bearcats went 6-7 in 2024, including a 4-3 mark against America East Conference opponents. Of the five players who received All-America East honors that season, four are returning to the program in 2025. Liam Ferris and Lorenzo Ramos earned Second Team All-Conference honors, while Andrew Girolamo and Jack Mellen made the All-Rookie Team.

Binghamton begins its season on Sunday, Feb. 8 with a home game against Lafayette. It will be the fourth season in a row and seventh time in the last eight seasons these two teams will face each other. The Leopards went 6-7 in 2024.

The Bearcats then travel for its first road game on Feb. 15 when they head to Western New York to go against St. Bonaventure. In 2024, Binghamton won a thrilling 13-12 game in overtime against the Bonnies. The Bearcats have won both games all-time against St. Bonaventure.

On Feb. 22, Binghamton welcome Marist to Vestal for the first game between these two programs since 2023. In 2024, the Red Foxes finished the season 8-7 overall and 5-4 in MAAC play, reaching the quarterfinals of their conference tournament.

Following that game, the Bearcats head out to Long Island to go against Hofstra on March 1, their first of two games against teams from the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). The Pride went 6-9 in 2024. Binghamton won the last matchup between these two teams 12-6 back in 2022.

In its final non-conference home game, Binghamton welcomes in-state opponent Siena on March 5. After going 8-8 in the regular season, Siena defeated Marist in the MAAC tournament 12-9 to reach the semifinals before falling to eventual champion Sacred Heart 15-13.

Before starting America East play, the Bearcats will compete against a former America East opponent in Stony Brook on the road on March 8. The Seawolves previously competed in the America East from 2001 through 2022 before leaving for the CAA.

Turning the page to the America East Conference portion of the schedule, Binghamton will first play at UMass Lowell on March 15, then host New Jersey Institute of Technology on March 22. The Bearcats defeated both teams the prior season, winning at NJIT 17-12 and at home against UMass Lowell 15-6.

Then comes the Bearcats' game at Harvard on the 29th. The Crimson went 8-5 in 2024, highlighted by a 13-11 win at No. 13 Michigan. Harvard will feature All-American Sam King returning to the team for his senior season.

Returning to conference play, Binghamton hosts UAlbany on March 5. The Great Danes are the defending America East regular season and tournament champions, winning a game in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The last time these programs faced each other in Vestal back in 2023, Binghamton came out on top in an exciting 15-14 game.

Following that is two road games in a row, first at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on April 12, and then Bryant on April 19. Binghamton's performance against UMBC in 2024 was one for the record books. In a 21-10 victory over the Retrievers, the Bearcats tied their program record for most goals in a game. Binghamton has scored 21 goals in a game in each of its last two seasons, also doing so against UMass Lowell on April 1, 2023.

To wrap up the regular season, Binghamton goes against Vermont at home on April 26. Gage Adams scored the game-winning goal in overtime to help the Bearcats defeat the Catamounts 11-10 in the last meeting between these two teams back in April.

If Binghamton qualifies for the America East Conference men's lacrosse tournament, the semifinals will take place on May 1, while the championship game will happen on May 3. The games will be held on the campus of the team with the top overall seed in the tournament.

The start times for these games will be announced at a later date.
