Box Score QUEENS, N.Y. – Visiting Binghamton men's tennis (11-9, 6-1 NEC) won the doubles point and three of the first four singles matches to topple LIU (7-6, 4-1 NEC) 4-3 in an NEC match Sunday night at Cunningham Park. The win, BU's sixth in its last nine matches, also pinned a first conference loss on the Sharks.

Filipe Costa were double-winners to pace the Bearcats. Binnie teamed with classmate
James McPherson for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. He then was first off the court in singles after a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1.
Costa improved to 23-6, 15-3 in duals with his three-set win at No. 2 singles – a victory that clinched the team win. It was his 12th singles win in his last 13 matches. Earlier, Costa paired with sophomore
Andrew Fang for a 6-4 triumph at No. 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point.
"It was a really strong performance tonight," head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "Our doubles got back on track, locked in on our key fundamentals and Filipe continues to be absolutely nails. He plays with the mentality and maturity of a senior, always positive and laser focused."
The Bearcats close out their dual match schedule next weekend in Western Pennsylvania at Duquesne (Fri.) and St. Francis (Sat.).
