Men's tennis edged by St. Bonaventure 4-3

Binnie, Lotlikar, Costa win at top three singles spots but Bonnies take doubles point for winning margin

Box Score OLEAN, N.Y. - Binghamton men's tennis (7-7) split the six singles matches but host St. Bonaventure (3-9) captured the doubles point in narrow fashion and prevailed 4-3 Thursday afternoon at the SBU Tennis Center.

Earlier in the day, sophomore No. 2 Ronin Lotlikar was named NEC Player of the Week and freshman No. 3 Filipe Costa took home NEC Rookie of the Week honors. Both backed up the honors with wins. Lotlikar improved to a team-best 20-7 overall with his 6-3, 6-1 win. Costa was extended to three sets but raised his season record to 18-6 with a 6-2, 0-6, 7-5 win. 

Also winning for the Bearcats was sophomore No. 1 William Morais Binnie, who earned a hard-fought 6-7, 7-5, 6-4 triumph. 

The Bearcats remain in Western New York and will face Niagara at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Village Glen Tennis Courts in Williamsville.
