Bearcats and Bonnies meet at 1 p.m. Sunday in Olean

VESTAL, N.Y. - After splitting its first two games of the season, Binghamton women's soccer finishes its stretch of road games with a tilt against Atlantic 10 member St. Bonaventure on Sunday. The teams will kick off at 1 p.m. at Marra Athletics Field Complex in Olean.

The Bearcats (1-1) are coming off a 5-0 loss at Canisius on Thursday. The Griffs scored three goals in the opening 14 minutes and held Binghamton's offense in check throughout. The Bearcats opened the season with a 3-2 win over another Atlantic 10 member, George Washington. Freshman midfielder Anna Buckwalter leads the team with two goals. Senior forward Hannah Mimas has a goal and an assist and sophomore midfielder Paige Luke has two assists. Keepers Kaitlyn Williams and Rebecca Kessler have split time in goal with each playing a half in both games. Kessler has made five saves in 90 minutes and Williams owns a 2.00 goals against average in her 90 minutes.

St. Bonaventure (0-3) began its season with a 1-0 loss to WNY rival Buffalo and then dropped two games against elite opponents in Texas. The Bonnies gave up five goals in losses at Baylor (5-2) and No. 8 Texas Tech (5-0). The team returns 14 letterwinners from its 2023 squad, which won two games in the challenging A-10. Fifteen newcomers round out the 2024 team, which was picked to finish 12th in the A-10 Preseason Poll, two spots ahead of a GW team that the Bearcats opened against.

Binghamton leads the all-time series 6-4-3. The teams haven't played since 2019 but the Bearcats are unbeaten in the last five head-to-head (3-0-2). In Olean however, Binghamton is winless in its last four (0-2-2).
