Tirado, Norby and Iwanow chosen for opening-meet performances

VESTAL, N.Y. – Senior Lizzy Tirado and junior Dylan Norby have swept the America East weekly diving awards while freshman Julia Iwanow was named the conference's Women's  Rookie of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon by the America East Office.

Tirado won the women's three-meter diving event in the Bearcats' tri-meet on Sept. 28 against Le Moyne and Stonehill. In the process, she met the qualifying standard for the NCAA Zone Meet with a winning score of 282.35. She was also second in the one-meter event (256.25).

This marks Tirado's second America East Women's Diver of the Week award. She was previously chosen back on Oct. 21, 2023.

Norby won the men's three-meter diving event in the same meet at Le Moyne. His first-place score of 345.35 met the NCAA Zone Meet qualifying standard.

This marks Norby's first weekly honor.

Iwanow, meanwhile, won the 200 IM (2:12.07) and 100 breast (1:06.88) in her college debut at Le Moyne. She also swam on the first-place 200 medley relay.

Binghamton hosts Niagara on Saturday. The diving events start at 11 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 1 p.m.
