Bearcat duo sparked Bearcats to dual meet sweep against Canisius

VESTAL, N.Y. - Freshman Julia Iwanow earned her fifth America East Women's Rookie of the Week award while fellow freshman Isaih Francis was named both the conference's Men's Swimmer and Rookie of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon by the conference office.

Iwanow won the 100 breast (1:06.81) during the Bearcats' dual meet against Canisius on Saturday. She was also second in the 50 breast (31.09) and swam on the first-place 200 medley relay team.

Francis, meanwhile, took top honors in the men's 50 back (24.22) and 100 back (52.39) and swam on the first-place 200 medley relay team against Canisius. This marks the first time in his career that Francis has earned a weekly award.

Binghamton heads to NJIT on Saturday. The Bearcat men square off against the host Highlanders while the women face CCSU. The diving portion of the meet starts at 10 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 12:30 p.m.
