Men’s, Women’s Tennis Upended at Le Moyne

Bearcats return home tomorrow vs. St. Francis

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SYRACUSE, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's (1-2, 0-1) and Women's (0-2, 0-2) Tennis dropped NEC contests to Le Moyne Friday night inside Elevate Fitness. The men dropped their conference opener, 4-3, to the Dolphins while the women fell, 5-2. 

MEN

HOW IT HAPPENED
Kyle Weekes and James McPherson opened up the night for the Bearcats with their first win as a doubles pairing this spring, 6-2, in the third slot. Le Moyne took the next two matches to claim the doubles decision and lead 1-0 heading into singles play. 

A win in the top singles slot gave Le Moyne a 2-1 advantage before Binghamton registered three, impressive three-set victories at second, third and fourth singles to go up 3-2. 

Down 3-2, the Dolphins clinched the final two individual matches to earn the 4-3 conference victory.

WOMEN

HOW IT HAPPENED

Clara Arbeloa Lopez and Caterina Casadei began the evening for Binghamton with a swift, 6-1, victory at No. 2 doubles. Le Moyne recorded the next two victories to earn the doubles decision and go up 1-0 heading into individual competition. 

The Dolphins picked up two more wins at the start of singles play to lead 3-0 before Loren Cuomo earned a three-set victory, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, at No. 1 singles to cut their edge to 3-1.  
Le Moyne clinched the team win 4-1 with dominant performance at fourth singles before both teams notched one score to end the match 5-2 in favor of the Dolphins.
