Men’s Tennis Drops Narrow 4-3 Decision to Army

Bearcats return to action at Princeton Friday

Box Score BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's Tennis (4-6, 1-1) dropped a narrow, 4-3 decision to Army West Point (5-4, 0-1), Saturday afternoon inside the Lane-Starke Tennis Center. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Binghamton picked up an early 1-0 edge over Army after wins in the first and second doubles spots. Kyle Weekes and James McPherson notched a dominant, 6-1 decision over the Black Knights' second doubles pairing. 

Filipe Costa's straight-set victory at No. 3 singles brought the Bearcats advantage to 2-0 before Army registered wins in the next three matches to take a 3-2 lead. William Morais Binnie battled into two tiebreaks at second singles to even the score at three. Army then clinched the 4-3 victory with a three-set win in the sixth slot.
