Bearcats drop 5-2 decision, Weekes picks up wins at second doubles and fifth singles

Box Score PRINCETON, N.J. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's Tennis (4-7, 1-1) dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 20 Princeton (11-4) Friday afternoon inside the Lenz Tennis Center.

"I'm really proud of Kyle's effort today, he's been working on his approach mentally this week in training and it came through today, " said Head Coach Nick Zieziula. "Doubles is continuing to move in the right direction - we just have to keep building through a long weekend."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Princeton picked up a win at first doubles to take an early advantage before Kyle Weekes and James McPherson notched a 6-2 victory over the Tigers' Filippos Astreinidis and Matthew Bosancic. The ITA ranks Astreinidis No. 45 in the nation with doubles partner Paul Inchauspe. Princeton clinched the doubles decision with a win in the final spot to gain a 1-0 lead.

The Tigers earned two more decisions at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to open up individual play. Weekes and Zubin Omar then registered two straight-set singles wins to cut Princeton's edge to one, 3-2. The Tigers claimed a 5-2 team victory next after recording victories at second and fourth singles, respectively.
