Gage Adams Named AE Offensive Player of the Week

Senior posted three goals, three assists in win at UMass Lowell

VESTAL, N.Y. – Following his outstanding performance in the Binghamton men's lacrosse team's 14-12 win over UMass Lowell on Friday, Gage Adams has been named the America East Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Adams broke through with his biggest performance of the season yet during the Bearcats' America East opener against the River Hawks. The senior attack registered a season-high three goals and three assists, making it the first time this year that he posted either more than one goal or one assist in a game.

With his three tallies, Adams passed Phil Cavallo for the fifth-most career goals in Binghamton men's lacrosse history at 67. Friday's performance was also Adams' 11th hat trick of his career with the Bearcats, which puts him one behind Michael Antinozzi's 12 for the third-most in program history.

This is the second time during Adams' time at Binghamton that he has been named Offensive Player of the Week by the America East. The first instance came back on May 1, 2023 after the Kirkland, Wash., native scored five goals to help the Bearcats defeat UAlbany 15-14 on April 29. It was the fourth time that season that Adams had scored at least five goals in a game.

Binghamton received an honor from the America East for the second time in as many weeks. On March 10, Matthew Rincon was named Defensive Player of the Week after the midfielder collected 11 ground balls and caused four turnovers combined between the Bearcats' games against Siena and Stony Brook the week prior.

Binghamton returns home to the Bearcats Sports Complex to host NJIT on Saturday at noon for its Mental Health Awareness Game. The Bearcats are partnering with Goalies Matter to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to honor Robert Martin, a former goalie for the program who passed away on April 1, 2022.

All of Binghamton's home men's lacrosse games this season include free admission on behalf of Station 45 American Chop House. Station 45 is the presenting sponsor of Bearcats Men's Lacrosse.
