Binghamton defeats LIU, 4-2, to win second consecutive championship

Box Score WEST WINDSOR, N.J. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's Tennis claimed its second consecutive NEC Championship after defeating LIU, 4-2, Saturday afternoon at the Mercer County Tennis Center.

William Morais Binnie earned the championships' Most Valuable Player Award while Andre Ajed and Zubin Omar picked up All-Tournament honors

HOW IT HAPPENED
Binghamton notched wins in the top two doubles spots to take an early 1-0 lead over LIU.

Filipe Costa opened singles action with a dominant, 6-0, 6-0 performance in the third slot to put the Bearcats up 2-0. Long Island recorded its first win at fifth singles before Omar collected a straight-set victory in the final spot to give Binghamton a 3-1 advantage.

The Sharks registered one more win at second singles until Morais Binnie clinched the 4-2 championship win for the Bearcats in the top slot.
