Tennis Lands NEC Scholar-Athlete, 15 Honor Roll Selections

Morais Binnie named NEC Men’s Tennis Spring Scholar-Athlete, teams pick up15 honor roll distinctions

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's Tennis' William Morais Binnie was named the 2025 Northeast Conference Men's Tennis Spring Scholar-Athlete, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon. Fifteen student-athletes from the men's and women's teams also earned Academic and Commissioner's Honor Roll selections. 

All scholar-athlete award winners compiled a minimum of 60 semester hours at their institution, maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.

Morais Binnie owns a 3.95 grade point average in Business Administration from Binghamton's School of Management. On the court, the rising senior is a two-time NEC First Team selection in both singles and doubles. Additionally, Morais Binnie picked up the 2025 NEC Championship's Most Valuable Player honor after clinching the team's final and semifinal victories to win back-to-back conference titles. 

Apart from the scholar-athletes, the NEC honors the academic achievements of student-athletes who qualified for the Spring Academic Honor Roll with a grade-point average of 3.20 or better. Furthermore, outstanding student-athletes were distinguished on the spring Commissioner's Honor Roll for maintaining an exceptional grade point average of 3.75 or higher.

On the men's side, all nine student-athletes garnered academic honors. Morais Binnie, Jonathan Arbittier, Andrew Fang and Kyle Weekes earned Commissioner's Honor Roll designations while Andre Ajed, Filipe Costa, Ronin Lotlikar, James McPherson and Zubin Omar landed on the Academic Honor Roll. 

From the women's team, six student-athletes recorded an academic accolade. Caterina Casadei and Julia Pedraza Palacios registered Commissioner's Honor Roll selections while Clara Arbeloa Lopez, Kayla Castellano, Loren Cuomo and Samantha Jaros picked up Academic Honor Roll nods.
