VESTAL, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Men's Tennis Head Coach
Nick Zieziula has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2024-25 President's Award for Staff Excellence in Community Engagement by Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger.
The award recognizes outstanding Binghamton University staff members who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to community engagement and positive social impact.
Zieziula, who has led the Bearcats men's tennis program since 2016, was honored for his efforts in organizing and leading free youth tennis clinics both in the Binghamton area and during team travel throughout the academic year. Under his leadership, the men's tennis team has developed a strong culture of service, regularly volunteering their time to teach and inspire young athletes at no cost.
"I am grateful for this recognition from President Harvey Stenger and appreciate the nomination from Bruce White," said Zieziula. "Bruce and Loi Tran have been great partners with Tennis Charities of Binghamton helping to create opportunities for youth in the City of Binghamton. Charlie Ellis and the members of the men's tennis team have been inspiring to work with on our after school program and in building our relationships with Kings County Tennis League and the New York Junior Tennis League."
As part of the award, Zieziula will receive a certificate, a medallion, and a $1,000 check. He will be formally recognized at the University's Excellence Awards Dinner in the fall.
"Most importantly, I am grateful for the support and example of my wife, Dr Amy Zieziula and our children who fill me with love and teach me patience in big and small ways on our journey as a foster family," Zieziula added.
