Bearcats and Orange tangle at 7 p.m. at SU Soccer Stadium

VESTAL, N.Y. - In an Interstate 81 battle between two teams with just one loss each, Binghamton women's soccer (4-1) meets Syracuse (3-1-2) at 7 p.m. Thursday at the SU Soccer StadiumĀ

The Bearcats are coming off a resounding 4-1 win over Atlantic 10 member George Washington on Sunday. That result followed a 2-1 road win at MaristĀ on Thursday. Binghamton's lone blemish this season was a 2-0 road loss at CAA frontrunner Monmouth.Ā

Sophomore forward Jahkaya Davis leads the conference and ranks 11th in the country with five goals. She has added two assists for a league-leading 12 points (15th in nation). Davis is the reigning America East Offensive Player of the Week and was named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week for her two-game totals of three goals and two assists. Davis has scored the game-winner in each of the two games and has three game-winning goals this season, which ranks third in the nation.Ā

Junior linemate Paige Luke ranks second in the America East in both goals (3) and points (8).Ā

Syracuse is unbeaten in its last four games (2-0-2) and is coming off a scoreless draw at Princeton on Sunday. The Orange have outscored opponents 14-4 and the team's only loss was a 2-1 setback to Niagara despite outshooting the Purple Eagles 29-5. Syracuse competes in the powerful ACC, which boasts eight teams in the national preseason Top 25. The team went 6-10-2 last season, including a 1-0 win over the Bearcats in Vestal.Ā

The Orange hold a 10-1-1 lead in the all-time series and have won eight straight, though six of those Binghamton defeats came by the slimmest of margins, including each of the last four matchups. The Bearcats' lone win was a 1-0 road victory back in 2005.Ā
