Bearcat duo honored for performances at Gamecock Invite.

VESTAL, N.Y. – Senior pitcher Brianna Roberts has been named the America East Softball Pitcher of the Week while senior first baseman Emma Lawson has been chosen as the conference's Player of the Week. The announcement was made on Tuesday morning by the America East office.

Roberts won her first game of the season on Friday, scattering one run on six hits and striking out eight batters in a complete-game victory over Syracuse. In her other start of the weekend, Roberts held No. 12 South Carolina to one run through the first four innings before allowing four earned runs in the fifth inning. For the weekend at the Gamecock Invite, Roberts was 1-1 with a 3.04 ERA against a pair of Power-4 Conference teams.

For her career, Roberts has now been named the America East Pitcher of the Week seven times. She was selected twice in 2024 and four times last season.

Lawson, meanwhile, went 6-for-15 (.400) with two doubles and three RBI during the past weekend. Her biggest hit was a two-run double against Syracuse on Saturday.

This marks the fourth time in her career that Lawson has been named the America East Player of the Week. She was also chosen on Feb. 13, 2024 as well as Feb. 11 and April 8 last season.

Binghamton (1-4) is currently ranked No. 22 in the D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll. The Bearcats head to the Auburn Invitational this coming Friday-Sunday.
