VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball continues its weekly southern travel when the Bearcats (1-5) head to North Carolina to face Big South member High Point (5-4) this weekend. The teams will play Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons at Williard Stadium.

The Bearcats grabbed a 9-8 win last Friday at William & Mary and played a tight rubber game on Sunday, falling 5-4.

Sophomore center fielder Matt Bolton leads the team with a .409 average (.519 on-base). Sophomore catcher Tommy Popoff is hitting .278 (.409 on-base) with three RBI. Sophomore third baseman Tim Hennig has one home run and a team-high four RBI.

High Point is coming off a 9-3 loss at Liberty on Wednesday. Last weekend, they took three of four from fellow America East member Maine. The Panthers went 39-19 last season and were picked to win the Big South this spring. They have four preseason all-conference selections, including senior first baseman Landen Johnson, who led the entire nation in RBIs last spring (86).
