VESTAL, N.Y. – Just a day after being named the Offensive Player of the Week by the America East Conference, Binghamton men's lacrosse attack Andrew Girolamo has been chosen for the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (USILA) Division I Team of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
This follows the junior's career performance in Binghamton's 16-9 win over UMass Lowell in their America East opener on March 14. The Mahopac, N.Y., native scored seven goals against the River Hawks, just one shy of tying the Binghamton record of eight scored in one game by Jeff Rurey against Lehigh on March 30, 2010. Additionally, Girolamo caused a career-high two turnovers and collected two ground balls.
 
Girolamo's seven goals were the most scored in a game by a Bearcat since April 1, 2023, when Matthew Keegan recorded seven of his own in Binghamton's 21-10 against UMass Lowell. The 21 goals posted by Binghamton in that game are also tied for the most goals scored by the Bearcats in a single game in program history.
 
This is the first time that Girolamo has been selected for this team. The last Bearcat to receive this honor was Connor Winters on May 1, 2025. Each week, 10 men's lacrosse players from across the country are voted onto the team for their performance the prior week. With this selection, Binghamton has had at least one player chosen for the team in each of the last four seasons dating back to 2023.
 
The Bearcats (2-5, 1-0 America East) head back out on the road this week to play at NJIT (3-5, 0-0 America East) at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
