VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton men's tennis (3-8) host Colgate (4-4) Saturday evening in the team's Game, Set, Grow program, slated for a 6 p.m. start tonight at the Lane - Starke Tennis Center.
This is the second year of the Game, Set, Grow! program which is run by Tennis Charities of Binghamton (TCOB). TCOB and the varsity tennis programs have been working hand in hand over the last several years to expand tennis and mentorship opportunities to not only the youth in Binghamton but also developed partnerships with similar nonprofits across the state.
The goal of Game, Set, Grow! is to provide opportunities for middle school students from NYC and Albany to come to Binghamton to play tennis, tour both Binghamton University and SUNY Broome, watch college tennis and learn about what it takes academically and athletically in high school to be prepared for college.
KCTL, NJJTL and 15Love bring free, year-round tennis programming directly to underserved communities in throughout NYC and Albany addressing barriers like cost, transportation, and access to courts.
Junior players from LSTC will also be participating in events on the weekend.
