Hartrick and Landi honored in CSC Writing Contest

Athletics communications duo recognized for 2025 articles and publications

VESTAL, N.Y. – Senior Associate Athletic Director John Hartrick and Athletic Communications Associate Nick Landi have each earned awards in the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Annual Fred  S. Stabley Writing Contest. The announcements were officially made at the CSC Annual Convention in Las Vegas this past week.

Hartrick was named the national co-winner for the historical feature with his Fall 2025 edition of the Division of Athletics' "Winning Edge" magazine. In that edition, he oversaw extensive research commemorating Binghamton's 25th year at the NCAA Division I level.

In addition, Hartrick was honored for his article of Binghamton alums turned Bearcat head coaches Jess Bump and Kevin McKeown, which appeared in the Spring 2025 edition of "Winning Edge." That article was voted on as the best Coach/Administrator profile in the Northeast District.

Landi, meanwhile, also earned a pair of Northeast District Awards for his writing. His profile on Binghamton equipment manager Tyler Zweig was named the best General Feature Story, while his 2025 Binghamton volleyball outlook was the runner-up for the best Season Preview Article.

Hartrick recently completed his 35th year of overseeing the Binghamton Division of Athletics' Communications Office. Landi, meanwhile, joined the communications staff in August 2023.
