VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton men's tennis announced Wednesday afternoon the signing of Luca Ugel, who will join the Bearcats in the fall of 2026.
"Luca is going to make an immediate impact for us in singles and double," said head coach
Nick Zieziula. "Our 2026 graduating class has left some big shoes to fill and Luca is another guy that has the experience in national and international competition that will help him slide right into those shoes. It is going to be an exciting August on court in Binghamton."
Ugel is a 4-star recruit (
https://tennisrecruiting.net/player.asp) who has developed at Laurel Springs High School and Matchpoint NYC. He currently ranks 17th nationally in 18 and under doubles and is ranked 17th individually in New York. In USTA national rankings, he was 104 in 14's, 89 in 16's and is currently 136 in 18's, while being ranked in the top 20 in singles play in the USTA eastern section at 14's and 16's
The Bearcats return to action in the fall of 2026, with an official schedule to be released this summer.
