VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's soccer begins its final four-game stretch to end the regular season when the Bearcats (1-11-1, 0-4 AE) host SUNY rival Stony Brook (5-7-2, 2-2 AE) in an America East game Thursday night. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
Binghamton plays three of its final four games at home. In their last outing on Sunday, BU surrendered two goals in the opening 10 minutes and lost 3-0 at UMass Lowell. Sophomore keeper
Katie Hatziyianis made six saves.
The Seawolves have won two straight after opening league play with a pair of one-goal setbacks. After blanking Albany 2-0 last Thursday, Stony Brook edged first-place New Hampshire 3-2 on Saturday, dealing the Wildcats their first conference loss. Junior forward Raven Edwards has seven goals in her last seven games, including two in the UNH game. She netted the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 87th minute and is a perfect 4-for-4 from the spot this season.
Since both programs entered the America East, Stony Brook holds an 8-2-2 lead in the all-time series, including last season's 2-1 double-overtime triumph on Long Island.
