WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - Western Michigan rattled off five singles wins after grabbing the doubles point and the 67th-ranked Broncos (13-4, 1-0 MAC) toppled Binghamton men's tennis (7-7, 0-2 MAC) 6-1 in a conference match Saturday afternoon at Buffalo's Miller Tennis Center.
"We made some very positive steps this weekend but it wasn't enough to get a team 'W,'" head coach
Nick Zieziula said. "If we can build off the positives and learn from some of the areas where we were deficient then we will be on the right track. Our resiliency needs to show through here in the next week as we go on the road for two critical MAC matches."
Senior No. 2
Sid Hazarika earned a 7-6, 6-2 win to notch BU's lone point. The Bearcats lost three-set matches at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles.Â
Binghamton begins a two-match road trip with a battle at Ball State on Friday.Â
