VESTAL, N.Y. – Two weeks after their impressive performances at the America East Championships, the Binghamton cross country teams return to the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds for the NCAA Northeast Region Meet. The women's 6,000-meter race begins at 11 a.m. followed by the men's 10,000-meter competition at noon.

The Bearcat men will send five runners to the Northeast Region Meet who earned all-conference honors at the America East Championships. They include sophomore Bobby Mayclim (fourth place), fellow sophomore Nick Thomas (sixth), junior Liam Cody (seventh), senior Andrew Rosenblatt (ninth) and freshman George Thomatos (12th). Also racing on Friday are freshmen Anthony Zazzaro, who was 19th at the conference meet, and Noah Hilker (23rd).

Three Binghamton women racing this weekend earned all-conference honors two weeks ago. They include senior Sydney Leitner (fourth), sophomore Anna Gansrow (10th) and Alice Rappazzo (12th). In addition, junior Brynn Hogan was 15th and redshirt sophomore Vicky Mordvinova was 30th. Filling out the women's roster for the Northeast Region Meet are sophomore Alicia DeFilippis and freshman Taylor Page.

There are 41 men's and women's teams taking part in the Northeast Region Meet. This includes America East schools UMass Lowell, Maine, Bryant, New Hampshire and Vermont. The River Hawks won the conference men's title two weeks ago while the Black Bears captured the women's crown.

Binghamton placed 16th out of 38 teams on the men's side at last year's Northeast Region Meet while the women were 24th out of 39 squads. Rosenblatt placed a career-best 63rd on the men's side last year while Leitner was 74th in the women's race. In 2022, Leitner placed a career-best 41st overall.
