Bearcats begin season Saturday at Colgate Invitational

VESTAL, N.Y. – The America East has released its Cross Country Preseason Poll and Binghamton is well represented on both the men's and women's sides. The Bearcat men have been picked to finish second at the conference meet on Oct. 31 while the women have been chosen third. The voting was done by the nine conference head coaches - none of whom were allowed to vote for their own team.

Binghamton returns three all-conference selections from last season. Current senior Sydney Leitner earned first-team honors for the third year in a row after a fifth-place finish at the 2024 America East Championships while current sophomore Anna Gansrow was a second-team honoree after placing 14th. On the men's side, senior Andrew Rosenblatt was a second-team selection after an 11th-place finish last season.

Defending champion UMass Lowell was the unanimous pick to place first on the men's side. They collected 64 points including the maximum eight first-place votes. Binghamton was second with 52 points while Maine finished third with 50 points and the other first-place vote.

On the women's side, New Hampshire was the pick to retain its crown. The Wildcats garnered 62 points and six first-place votes. Bryant (50), Binghamton (48) and UMass Lowell (47) took places two through four and each received one of the other first place votes.

Binghamton opens up its 2025 season at the Colgate/Harry Lang Invitational on Saturday at 11 a.m. The conference meet, meanwhile, will be hosted by UMass Lowell this season
