Bearcat men fourth, women sixth in final team standings

ALBANY, N.Y. – Junior Bobby Mayclim captured the men's individual title, highlighting Binghamton's performance at the America East Cross Country Championships on Friday at the University of Albany. In the final team standings, the Bearcat men were fourth out of nine teams while the women's finished sixth.

Mayclim covered the men's 8,000-meter course in a time of 23:59 to finish 14 seconds clear of the rest of the field. In the process, Mayclim joined Erik van Ingan (2009) and Dan Schaffer (2021) as the Bearcat men's runners who have won the America East's individual cross country title.

"It's really special to win this title and follow in the footsteps of Erik and Dan," Mayclim said afterwards. "I was able to trust my summer of training and my work this fall heading into today. I was determined to get to the finish line first and was very confident that it would happen if I ran well."

Leading the Binghamton women on Friday was junior Anna Gansrow, who finished 11th overall. She clocked a time of 17:44 for the 5,000-meter course.

Gansrow is just the third Binghamton women's runner to earn America East All-Conference honors three times during her career, having placed 14th in 2024 and 10th last year. She joins Aziza Chigatayeva (2018-22) and Sydney Leitner (2022-25).

In addition, Gansrow was the women's recipient of the America East Elite 18 Award following the meet. She is the first Binghamton women's cross country runner ever to receive the honor.
