STATE COLLEGE, Pa.-- Binghamton continued its indoor track & field season at the Penn State/Sykes & Sabock Challenge on Saturday at the Ashenfelter Complex. There was no team scoring at the meet.
The Bearcats posted a pair of runner-up finishes. Junior Putu Sutayasa was second in the men's long jump (23-1 ¾) while senior Joe Cardascia was second in the 200 (21.68). Cardascia was also fourth in the 400 (47.87).
Third-place finishes were turned in by senior Alyssa Armitage in the women's pole vault (13-1 ¼), graduate student Hillary Abankwa in the women's 600 (1:35.78) as well as redshirt junior Brian Luciano in the men's weight throw (64-6).
In addition to Cardascia, other fourth-place finishes were recorded by sophomore Brennan Delany in the men's high jump (6-5) and fellow sophomore Savanna Edwards in the women's 600 (1:36.287).
Next weekend is a pair of meets for the Bearcats - the Boston/Valentine's Invitational on Friday-Saturday and the Cornell/Kane Invitational on Saturday.Â
