VESTAL, N.Y. - With a postseason berth in the balance, Binghamton women's soccer (3-11-2, 2-4-1 America East) hosts Vermont (6-7-2, 3-3-1 AE) at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

Sporting a three-game unbeaten streak, BU is on the doorstep of a playoff berth. Holding the advantage in nearly all tiebreak scenarios, BU only needs to take care of its own result on the field Sunday to grab one of the six spots in the upcoming America East tournament. A win and the accompanying three points will send Binghamton into the quarterfinals on Thursday. But anything less than a win and BU's season is done.

Senior Katherine Corcoran's goal in the 57th minute stood up as the winner on Thursday as BU blanked UMBC 1-0. Sophomore keeper Katie Hatziyianis made six saves for her second consecutive shutout and third of the season.

Corcoran, Alyssa Vallar, Stephani Church, Samantha Crane and Jacqueline Ehrenreich will be honored pregame as part of Senior Day.

After going winless in their last three games, the Catamounts likely need a positive result today to assure themselves of a playoff berth. In their last outing one week ago, UVM dropped a 2-0 home decision to Albany. Before that they suffered a 3-1 loss at UMass Lowell. The team owns wins over Stony Brook (1-0), UMBC (3-2 OT) and Maine (2-1).

The Catamounts are led up front by 2013 America East Rookie of the Year Nikki McFarland (5 goals) and junior Caitie Green (4G).

Binghamton leads the all-time series 8-4. In the last two meetings, the teams have traded late season double overtime daggers. Two years ago, Vermont used a 2-1 win on a disputed goal to reach the postseason in the regular season finale. Last season, BU posted a 3-2 extra-session win in Burlington and parlayed that result into a postseason berth. Binghamton has won six of the last eight meetings. Four of the last five matchups have been decided by one goal.
