VERONA, N.Y. - Binghamton men's tennis (2-0) swept its opening two matches of the spring season, storming past UConn, 6-1 and Bryant, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at Turning Stone Resort.

Seniors Sid Hazarika and Eliott Hureau won both their matches at the top singles spots. Junior Thomas Caputo and freshman Valentin Bouchet also went undefeated at fourth and fifth singles, respectively. Bouchet improved to 10-2 in his inaugural collegiate year. 

"It's always great to start with two wins and get off on the right foot," head coach Nick Zieziula said. "Tactically overall we played very well. We focused on the things we practiced and that was good to see. We executed good percentage plays. We still have a lot to improve on for tomorrow and we're looking forward to facing Marist." 

The Bearcats face Marist at noon Sunday at Turning Stone to finish off their three-match weekend.
