Two-day meet begins Saturday at UMass Lowell

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton track & field teams head to the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which are being held at UMass Lowell. The two-day event runs Saturday-Sunday.

The Bearcats have eight athletes competing this weekend that have previously won America East individual titles. On the women's side, they include senior Alyssa Armitage (pole vault), senior Lucciana Robertson (high jump) as well as graduate student Hillary Abankwa (500). The Binghamton men's previous champions include redshirt junior Brian Luciano (weight throw), redshirt senior Jaston Ormsby (weight throw), Joe Cardascia (400) and Putu Sutayasa (long jump). In addition, redshirt sophomore Brennan Delany won the decathlon last year but will be competing in other events this weekend.

Among the rookies competing at this year's meet, redshirt freshman Gannon Traymore (hammer) and freshman Owen Keating (pole vault) have had the greatest impact on the Bearcats during outdoor season. In addition, freshman Micah Davis was second in the 200 at the conference indoor meet.

Earning all-conference honors in the indoor championship - and competing this weekend - are senior Kaya Duran, sophomore Savanna Edwards, senior Logan Wheeler and junior Alexa Colondona from the women's team. Binghamton's other men's all-conference selections at the indoor meet include Davis and sophomore Jacob Park.

At the 2025 championships, the Bearcat women were fourth out of nine teams while the men were fifth.
