Hall of Fame
A native of Great Neck, N.Y., Anna Edelman played tennis at Binghamton from 2007-11. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in human development in 2011.
A three-time America East all-conference selection and nationally-ranked singles player, Edelman won at an 80 percent clip during her sparkling three-year career. As a freshman, she won 53 matches and sported a 31-6 combined dual match record at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions.
Edelman led the Bearcats to 12 wins in a 13-match span that concluded with a runnerup finish at the America East Championship. Her 29 doubles wins (29-4) set the school record. She was named conference Rookie of the Year. After a year away from the courts, she returned with a vengeance in 2009-10, losing just five times in 38 matches. Her 30-3 combined dual match mark led the Bearcats to a 15-3 record and another narrow runnerup showing at the conference championship, where nemesis Boston University was the only roadblock between Binghamton and an NCAA bid.
As a senior, Edelman piled up the achievements. She rolled through the 128-player draw in the ITA East Regional Championship, placing second — the best finish in program history. In the spring, Edelman finished off a record 34-8 singles record with America East Player of the Year accolades after again leading the Bearcats to the brink of a conference crown. Edelman became the first player in BU's Division I tenure to crack the national rankings in singles and doubles and she reached as high as No. 104 in singles and No. 59 in doubles.
Despite playing only three years, she ranks fifth in program history in both singles (77) and doubles (67) victories and has the third-most singles wins at the No. 1 position.
Edelman was selected as the University's "Athlete of the Year" in 2010-11.
